Russian Music Academy of America was founded in 2000 by Elza K. Ritter, MM (Resume: View Elza's   Resume in MS Word formatView Elza's Resume in PDF format ). She completed her Masters  in  piano pedagogy and performing  from Russian Gnessin Academy of Music  in Moscow , one of the premier music institutions in the world . It was her dream to establish a school in US , similar to Russian Music  Institutions, based on Russian method of teaching.

Elza K. Ritter is an accomplished pianist  and  pedagog with  25 years of experience.  She has performed as an accompanist for the singers of the Bolshoi Theater, and has done many soloist performances at concert halls in various regions throughout Russia.

Since 1999, Elza  Ritter has performed at several concerts in the America and has worked as accompanist for Anna Tucker Loomis, an acclaimed mezzo-soprano singer. Since 2000 Mrs Ritter is adjunct professor of piano teaching  in music departement at NVCC. In November 2001, Ms. Ritter won the Jordan Kitts Music Education Grant. In  September 2006  Elza Ritter  has performed in Kennedy Center "Rapsody in Blue" by Gershvin together with Kairy Koshoeva, MM, another pupil of Russian Music Academy after Gnessins.  Mrs Ritter served as invited judge for Piano Competitions in 2006 (Poland) and 2007 (Russia). Also,  2006 Mrs Ritter has established  Concert Series "The Joy of Music".  Accomplished musicians are invited  from other countries (Germany, Russia)  to perform for Virginians. Elza Ritter is a member of Music Teachers National Association of America, Virginia Music Teachers Association, Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association, The College Music Society, Music Guild, Fairfax Loudoun Music Fellowship, and Springfield Music Club.

  
"My goal is to share my knowledge, experience, talent and love for music with my students. I love watching them learn,  progress to higher level , win competitions and achieve awards. The most important  for me when student learn from me how to play MUSIC, not just NOTES. Learn how to  feel  MUSIC , learn how to express  feelings by MUSIC,  learn enjoy performing and  listening MUSIC. The greatest accomplishement  for me , when student  learn how  to share with other  THE JOY of MUSIC . "
